28 March 2025:
The Diocese of Itanagar officially took control of Yachuli Parish from the Pallotine Missionary Fathers in a ceremony on 28 March 2025, graced by the presence of Bishop of Itanagar Most Rev. Benny Varghese Edathattel.
During the Eucharist, which was joined by the Provincial of the Pallotine Fathers, Fr. Joy, and the last Pallotine parish priest Fr. Yeshu Babu and his team Fr. Byju, Fr. Jijo, and Fr. Savio, the bishop has installed the news parish Priest and his Assistant. Fr. Sabu Joseph was installed as the new Parish Priest, while Fr. Varghese Philip Mamparambil was appointed as the Assistant Parish Priest and Principal of the school.
The Pallotine Fathers dedicated 13 years of service to the parish, following the initial establishment of the mission by the Salesian missionaries. With the new parish priest and his assistant, who previously served together in Mechuka, the community is optimistic that they will carry forward the ministry with renewed enthusiasm and zeal.
Key moments from the transition ceremony, highlighting the Eucharist, the installation of Fr. Sabu Joseph and Fr. Varghese Philip Mamparambil, heartfelt farewells to the Pallotine Fathers, and the warm embrace of the new clergy by the parish community, symbolizing a hopeful new chapter for Yachuli Parish.
